Last spring, I met the lovely and talented Leslie Miller at Stacy and Dan's wedding outside of Boston, Massachusetts. Turns out Leslie and her husband Matt live in San Diego, where I planned to move in a few short months. And, we both worked in the wedding industry! We quickly became friends and set about planning an amazing photo shoot to inspire brides planning an intimate, farm style wedding with antique and hand made pieces.
Incorporating the talents of chef Anne Marie Coulon of Heirloom Gatherings and floral designer Kimberly Buffington of Flowerchild San Diego, we put together some pretty details (complete with a couple of really-ridiculously-good-looking models to back it up!) and chose a relaxed farm setting just East of San Diego. Everything came together perfectly and I'm so excited to share these beautiful images!
Sit tight because this is a loooong post!

Two years ago I was lucky enough to be a part of the beautiful wedding of Ellen and Mike in Phoenix, Arizona. They got married in the Japanese Friendship Garden and the reception was held at Ellen's work place. Mike is a professional lighting designer, and when I saw all the hard work that Mike, Ellen, and their friends and family had put into transforming the space I was incredibly impressed. Happy anniversary Ellen and Mike!

One year ago today, Bill and I traveled to Kansas City to celebrate Danica and Arthur's wedding. I had them in front of my camera about six months earlier for their engagement photos in the Volker and downtown areas of KC. Happy anniversary Danica and Arthur!

Yesterday I spent the day with the lovely Amber and Jim in Quincy and Ursa, Illinois. It was my first time photographing a winery reception and can I just say wow... I love vineyards :) We had an incredibly gorgeous day, beautiful light, and an amazing couple. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Martin! Yeah Jim and I have the same last name hehe... enjoy the sneak peek!
Amber's kind of a supermodel, don't you think?

I'll be the first to admit I'm a little behind on my blogging. The end of the summer and beginning of fall has been a bit crazy for me -- I went to Cape Cod for a week for the second Martin Family reunion (the first one took place in Hawaii - I was 2.) This past weekend I went to New York City to celebrate my grandmother's 100th birthday. Since we had a surprise party planned for her, I had to pretend I was in San Diego and devastated I couldn't be there when I talked to her in the morning to wish her a Happy Birthday. But she was delighted to be surprised and had a fabulous time. In between traveling I've been working on processing images from some amazing photo shoots and weddings, and designing albums for some wonderful couples.
More info and photos on these family trips will be coming soon, but in the mean time I am delighted to share the lovely wedding on Sarah and Joe. You may remember them from their train station engagement session awhile back. Sarah and Joe's wedding was a relaxed affair with many family and friends, all of whom looked completely overjoyed as they watched Sarah and Joe say their vows. After spending the day with these two, I can tell how happy they are to have found each other and appreciate how they celebrate this in small moments. I love the looks of true happiness on their faces as they danced their first dance together as husband and wife. I loved how Joe could make Sarah laugh in a moment. Enjoy the images...
